A Challenging Day at Oulton Park: Embracing the Unpredictability of Motorsport
Motorsport enthusiasts understand that the world of racing is a rollercoaster ride of thrilling highs and devastating lows. This truth became evident at Oulton Park last Saturday (27th May), when the FormEvo Clark Racing team faced an unexpected car accident during the BritCar Endurance qualifying. The incident left our vehicle severely damaged, ultimately preventing us from participating in both races. It was a day that exemplified the unpredictability of motorsport and put our team's resilience to the test.
The Unexpected Turn of Events
Having displayed impressive performance during early practice, our driver Simon Clark entered the qualifying session with unwavering confidence. However, fate had a different plan in store. Approaching Shell Oils, a tightly banked right-hand hairpin, Simon experienced a sudden and unexpected front axle lock-up. This caused the car to veer onto the wet grass and collide head-on with the barrier, propelling it astonishingly five feet into the air. Spectators, including our team, were left in a state of tension and concern. Fortunately, we received reassuring news that Simon had been taken to the medical center without any injuries. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the ill-fated car, which suffered significant damage.
The Resilience of the Team
Despite the disappointment, we must acknowledge the extraordinary resilience demonstrated by the circuit marshals, medics, and the FormEvo Clark Racing team. They embarked on a tireless mission to repair the car under the scorching sun, working relentlessly to make it race-ready for the 11:30 AM and 5 PM races. However, fate had other plans, and Simon had to withdraw from participating in both races. Nevertheless, the pleasant weather and warm hospitality turned the day into a satisfying experience despite the setbacks.
Acknowledging the Support
In times like these, the support we receive becomes crucial. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our fellow competitors, who showed genuine concern and support throughout this challenging day. Additionally, we extend our thanks to all the guests who joined us at Oulton Park, enjoying the beautiful weather, warm hospitality, and excellent company. Their presence uplifted our spirits during this trying time.
Collaboration: FormEvo and its Partners
The event at Oulton Park showcased the remarkable collaboration between FormEvo, Expedite Law/Fusion IT Management Ltd, and Enabl AI. Despite the unexpected turn of events on the track, these organisations joined forces to deliver an exceptional show. The team of collaborators displayed commendable resilience and adaptability, reaffirming their commitment to creating a memorable experience regardless of the circumstances.

Learning from Challenges
As the saying goes, racing at the highest level pushes us to our limits. However, setbacks often offer valuable lessons. We firmly believe that we learn more from failure than from success. Despite the unfavourable outcome, we remain thankful for the blessings we have received and the opportunity to work with an exceptional group of individuals. Their unwavering support has undoubtedly strengthened our resolve to bounce back and reclaim our championship campaign.
In Summary...
The trials and tribulations experienced at Oulton Park serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of motorsport. Although the day did not unfold as planned, we are grateful for the remarkable resilience displayed by our team, the unwavering support from fellow competitors and guests, and the successful collaboration of our partners.
Moving forward, we will harness the lessons learned from this challenging day to fuel our determination and strive for even greater success. We are excited about what the future holds and remain committed to delivering exceptional performance both on and off the track.
Thank you,
Richard
